I am an artist based in the UK.  I do not limit myself to any particular genre of art as i feel that would be counterintuitive to the process of free expression.

I am the sketch artist/author of The Daily Puppin Sketch currently to be viewed on my instagram account, dailypuppin, or follow the hashtag #dailypuppin.

I am self taught. Over the last 6 years i have been a member of my local and the national Embroiderers Guild. I have attended roughly 10 half day courses with them to learn textile art tecniques. These courses have enabled me to realise my potential as an artist and have been the catalyst to helping me move forward.

My disability prevents me from attending anything regularly so attending art college or Uni was not an option. Belonging to a group that has many talented and like minded people helps to inspire and enthuse. The talks by other textile artists have been very inspirational to me.

I have exhibited once with my local Embroiderers Guild group at Felbrigg Hall Norfolk for the Capability Brown Celebration of 2016. We are exhibiting there again in 2018.

Independently I exhibited at The Festival of Quilts Birmingham in August 2017.

This past year, late 2018 early 2019,  i have been drawing and writing my first Puppin childrens book.

In particular the world of the Daily Puppin and Yoshpuss has been about achieving within boundries. Previously the things that stopped me completing, and in a lot of cases, beginning a piece of work was the fear of producing an imperfect piece technically. Which brings with it the fear of not being taken seriously. Throwing this mindset aside this past year and a half has been liberating. I’ve moved away from textile art to focus on my Puppin drawings. Being realistic about focusing on one thing has proved fruitful. The world of Daily Puppin is very much about the joy and company of pets. The mental health benefits from having a pet and the importance of support dogs for both physical and mental health issues. Our dog, who inspired the Daily Puppin, has changed our lives and i think more disabled people should have access to support dogs.

My latest art jaunt is a photo quartet for our local disability pride day 2019, i will post them when they are ready.

Through my art I aim not just to express myself but to make pieces to start conversations and bring about awareness of life as a disabled person. To cut away at the barriers that still exist for many disabled people in their everyday life. Access to all areas of life matters for everybody, it is equality, and we need to continue to try to achieve it.

I do not only limit my inspiration or output to disability related art. I am interested in many different things and these come through in my work. I love nature, wrestling (particularly New Japan Pro Wrestling) and lots of other things. I hope you enjoy my art.
